About The Science of Excellence Seminars/Lectures Success is an often used but surprisingly vague term. The Science of Excellence defines success as achieving and maintaining outstanding results in health, relationship and career. The scientific investigation of excellence has revealed surprisingly consistent skills that individuals, couples, and organizations possess that allow them to both pursue and sustain success. There are two questions that the Science of Excellence explores: One, what are the essential skills for achieving success in all three areas of life, work, relationship, and health? Two, what are the essential skills for sustaining success once it is achieved? Over 80 studies examining success in children, adults, small and large work groups are summarized and presented in entertaining and interactive seminars and workshops. The programs explore these skills, utilizing extensive audio visual demonstrations of the research so participants can witness the data for themselves. There are distinct seminars available for personal growth and for organizational success. Opportunities for both self-assessment of one's own skills, and for enhancing those skills are provided. A quiet revolution is taking place. A growing body of research is focusing on individuals and organizations to understand their success in work, health and relationships. Historically, the science community based theories and therapies by studying what was wrong with people's lives. This approach has had limited success as evidenced by problems such as substance abuse, depression, violence and stress that continue to exist and in fact are on the rise. Conversely, cholera, small pox and malaria were cured by studying those who did not succumb to the disease and discovering the nature of their success. In this same light, behavioral sciences are beginning to study successful individuals and organizations to develop the laws that can be applied to improve one's own life. Four key skills have been identified in all individuals and organizations who create and sustain excellence. These skills make a difference in how people and organizations overcome obstacles and adversity to be productive, healthy and connected with others in the workplace, community and at home. These findings form the basis of The Science of Excellence. The programs explore these skills, utilizing extensive audiovisual demonstrations of the research so participants can witness the data for themselves.
